The eruption in Fagradalsfjall is still ongoing. The eruption is featuring a lava field which keeps growing at the base of few active vents. The estimated extrusion rate is assessed, as for yesterday, to be about 5 m3/sec. DOAS traverses have been performed yesterday and today and the initial assessment gives a flux of SO2 between 23 and 50 kg/s. The gas plume height was assessed yesterday by using calibrated images to be between 400 and 1000 m asl. A slight increase in SO2 concentration has been detected during the night over and around the Reykjavík Capital Area. This increase never exceeded levels which could pose a threat to human health. There is no production of ash and tephra. The seismic activity is still ongoing and spread around the Fagradalsfjall area. Because of the lack of ash and tephra emission in the atmosphere, the aviation color code for Fagradalsfjall-Krýsuvík is maintained ORANGE as there are no imminent hazard for the aviation.

Hæð gosmökkvar:
Few hundreds of meters of volcanic gas plume. No ash production.
