The volcanic unrest in the Reykjanes peninsula continues without any signs of reduction. Since midnight almost 2200 earthquakes have been automatically detected by the seismic network. Short-lived pulses of tremor occurred occasionally and they are all localized in the Fagradalsfjall area where the majority of intense seismic activity progresses since the last days. The latest data from the cGPS network and the InSAR processing indicate that the inflow of magma continues and its current location (between Keilir and Fagradalsfjall) is considered to be the most likely area where an eruption might take place. IMO keeps monitoring closely the area and surveillance has been (and will be) potentiate in order to improve the capability of detecting signs of imminent eruption and follow any possible evolution.
